A check will be written by the Treasurer to Alene, who has put up monies beyond the refundable deposit for the C.O.P. Ramada at Willow Lake. When this money is refunded, the $30 will be made part of a fund to finance present and future event incidental costs of future such Celebrations and/or Festivals, as was agreed to set up a petty cash fund not to exceed $50 at our 3/26/2011 Board Meeting. Minutes of the 26th February 2011 Board Meeting
of the Mystical Spiritualist Church, Inc.
Board Members in Attendance President John Kohlenberger, Vice President: Marlene Williams,
Treasurer: Martine Kohlenberger
Committee Members in Attendance
Membership/Outreach: Marlene Williams (Chair)
Program Committee: Brian Nicholas (Chair)
Educational Committee: Marlene Williams (Chair) and members Brian Nicholas & Alene Cassara.
Program Committee: Brian Nichols (Chair)
Healing Committee: (members) Alene Cassara & Brian Nichols
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 1:10 PM, inside the Wild Iris Coffee House in Prescott. Agenda items were discussed, as follows:
Quarterly Celebrations (Equinoxes and Solstices):
A Spring Equinox Celebration is planned by Brian Nicholas, for March 19th at Goldwater Lake, beginning at 1 PM (possibly until 6 PM closing). This event should include Food, Fun and Festivities, including a Potluck, Drumming Circle, Divination Cards, Labyrinth, Wish Papers and a Meditation given by Martine. Exactly what occurs from the above list will depend on who shows up and with what.
John will put an announcement (Special Events) and a sign-up form on the website.
Healing Circles and Guidelines (for Nourishment of body, mind and soul):
Though these gatherings presently have a non-teaching format, we will make allowance for occasional Special Guests and may drop that format on those occasions.
Normally, however, the Healing Circle Ceremony will take place from 1 PM to 2 PM on the third Sunday of each month. Afterwards, we will have a short social and refreshment time (15 minutes minimum) followed by a "healing time" for healers and healees, engaging in a few short (15 minutes?) healing sessions, possibly for a small charge ($5?), until 3 PM, which is all the time the church has paid for in advance. It is preferred, by the church, that healers use chairs or bring their own tables.
Optionally, after any Healing Circle Ceremony this "healing time" may, instead, be devoted to a Special Presenter who, after our short social time, will "teach" some aspect of healing, until 3 PM.
After 3 PM and by prior arrangement with Creekside Center management, additional Healing or Teaching time may be available, but must be charged for so the Church can pay for the additional room rental time.
NOTE: The Building Cleaner comes at 4 PM, so it is recommended that we should cease all activities by then!
Healing and Awareness Fairs (Future Planning)

Minutes of the 12/05/09 Board meeting
of the Mystical Spiritualist Church
Members attending-John & Martine Kohlenberger, Debra Taylor, Brian Nichols, Alene Cassara, Bren Waggoner and Marlene Williams.
The meeting began at 11:45 AM:
We had a discussion about the wording of the church's Motto, Mission, Vision, and Support Statements. Everyone agreed the wording of these statements needed to be updated to be active, with present tense verbiage to create a higher frequency or vibration. Marlene agreed to write up a draft changing the language and submit it to Rev. John for his approval. John will then email everyone a copy of the re-worded mission statement.
We talked briefly about the proposed Articles of Incorporation to register at the state level as a not for profit organization which would be OK for state tax deductions. We would need to register at the Federal level as a 501(c)(3) organization to be able to itemized church deductions on our Federal taxes. We will work toward getting registered at the state level first.
We received copies of the Board Bylaws of the Mystical Spiritualist Church. Included in this information is the duties and responsibilities of the individuals filling offices in the church. John went over and confirmed again who was serving in what office/position. Marlene volunteered to assist with the writing of the newsletters. We discussed what items might be of interest in a newsletter, articles, pictures and poems. John said any of us can contribute items of interest for the news letter.
It was decided the best time for the next board meeting would be after our Sunday service on Jan. 3rd, 2010.
The meeting adjourned at 12:45 PM, to on Jan. 3rd, 2010 at about 11:45 AM after the Church Service.
Respectfully Submitted: Bren Waggoner

First MSC AZ Legal Organization & Board Meeting Summary 15 Nov 2009
THOSE PRESENT: Alene Cassara, Brenda Waggoner, Marlene Williams. Patti Sorensen, Brian Nicholas, Martine Kohlenberger & John Kohlenberger
CALL TO ORDER: 10 AM
ADGENDA ITEM 1: Should we have twice monthly Church Services?
After a discussion, all agreed, "Yes".
ADGENDA ITEM 2: Is a Service focused on "Healing" needed?
After a discussion, all agreed, "Yes". The discussion further revealed that a "structured" service is not as important to this group as it would be for "orthodox" church attendees. Though we have a basic structure, Re. John said that we can try that for now and see what develops. Further, Rev. Martine suggested a "circular" seating arrangement and all agreed that this is fine. Then, Bren volunteered to bring her harp for music, John could play "inspired" music on the keyboard, Bren also suggested toning and Patti suggested drumming, between our healing meditation, prayer and inspirational message. The main feature of this Healing Service would be hands-on healing of the congregation and at the end the healers would also heal each other. We may even sit in a circle and direct the energy in a circular motion, creating a spiral of healing energy within for other people, the earth, planets and the great beyond.
Martine mentioned the recent Daily Courier article (Thursday) about the local Solstice celebrations. As most had not seen the article it will be posted on the Website, on the Arizona Christmas City Page.
ADGENDA ITEM 3: We are incorporated in California as an IRS Non-profit church. However, our human support base is now totally in Arizona. Though we are a small church and fall out of certain restrictions of law, shall we proceed with moving our "organizational base" to the state of Arizona?
All seemed to be in favor of this action, with a target date of 1 January 2010 for submitting paperwork to the state of Arizona. Rev. John suggested that, if this is too soon (with the Holidays), then Spring is our target.
ADGENDA ITEM 4: Choosing a Board of Directors:
From among those present, the following people volunteered or were chosen by consensus:
· President: John Kohlenberger
· Vice President, Marlene Williams
· Secretary: Brenda Waggoner
· Treasurer: Martine Kohlenberger (for now)
o Assistant Treasurer: Alene Cassara (in training)
o Healing Committee Chair: Bren Waggoner & Patti Sorensen (Martin Archer?)
o Education Committee Chair: Marlene Williams (Debby Taylor?)
o Membership/Outreach: (Looking for Volunteers)
o Program Chair: Brian Nicholas ADDED: Member of The Advisory Board (a non-voting position): Debby Taylor ... and any others interested in showing up to participate in our Reorganization
NOTE: Other officers will likely be added before 1 January 2010, as a few regular attendees were not present.
END OF YEAR CHARITY DISBURSEMENTS: The new Board agreed on the following:
· to the local Yavapai Food Bank - before Thanksgiving
· to the local Prescott Habitat for Humanity - by Christmas
ADJOURNMENT: 11:45 AM
NEXT MEETING: 6 December after Church at about 11:45 AM
Respectfully submitted by John M. Kohlenberger ... subject to changes recommended by other attendees
