In this lecture series, Professor Bart D. Ehrman explores some of the myths and facts of Christianity, so that we may understand how this history has become the basis of many of our legends, philosophies and politics in our Western world. We will examine the beginnings of Christianity, its Jewish roots, discover how from such a humble beginning Christianity became so significant in Rome and the Western world. We'll also see how Christianity related to the Roman Empire and look at its internal struggles, developments and eventual acceptance during its first 300 years.
